Terms of Service

Effective 2026-07-17

Template drafted from general compliance research — not legal advice. Pending review by a qualified South African health-tech attorney.

By creating an account or using Bloodwork AI (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Educational purpose — no medical advice

The Service provides educational information only and is not a medical device, healthcare service, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. See the Medical Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms. Using the Service creates no doctor–patient relationship.

3. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that analyses are correct or complete. AI-generated output may be wrong.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bloodwork AI and its operators, officers, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of health, profits, or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service — even if advised of the possibility. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including under the Consumer Protection Act).

5. Assumption of risk & indemnity

You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for decisions you make. You agree to indemnify Bloodwork AI against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your reliance on its information without professional verification.

6. Your data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of the health data you upload; you grant Bloodwork AI a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you.

7. Acceptable use

Do not upload content you have no right to, attempt to reverse-engineer or overload the Service, or use it to provide medical services to others.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these Terms or suspend the Service. Material changes will be notified. You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer rights.
